following drugs must not be taken by any person competing in any competition.
If you are ill at any time before or during the competition and need medical
assistance, be sure to advise the doctor that you are a participant of a tournament
and that he should be sure not to prescribe any drug not accepted in sport
participation.

Spaced out Spiders'

Drugs
are bad news - even for spiders.
Experiments by the American space authority NASA have proved arachnids,
like humans, become spaced out if given drugs and are unable to perform
their life function, spinning a web.
Although
an ordinary house spider, high on dagga does try, it's so relaxed
it doesn;t finish the job.
And if it's given benzedrine
- or speed, as it's known to addicts - the spider will start spinning
frenziedly but do a botched job and make a web with huge holes.
They don't like caffeine
either. They become so hyperactive the structure it tries to spin
doesn't even remotely resemble a web. Giving them a sedative such
as chloral hydrate makes them spin a few threads and then pass out.
