There is no fixed address for my Dojo.
The classes are being held at various schools.

 

 

CURRICULUM VITAE

1973 Started karate, at the age of 15, with sensei Dave Millar, in Margate.
1977 Moved to Johannesburg and trained at various dojo's with various styles
1978
to 1985		 Trained with Sensei Lionel Marinus and Sensei Sakkie Louw. During this time attended courses given by Sensei Kimura, from United States.
1986 returned to Margate and again trained with Sensei Dave.
1987 Graded to Shodan with sensei Ray Ryan.
1987 Taught under privileged kids karate while doing duties at a school hostel, until the school requested to stop in 1989.
1989 Graded to Nidan with sensei Dave Millar.
1990 Family pressure (2 small babies) prevented her to train full time
1999 Started training full time again together with her 2 daughters.
2000 Attended a training seminar with Soke Masuyama at Margate Sport School.
2001 Attended a training seminar with Soke Masuyama at T. O. Starnd.
In July Sensei Masuyama graded Christien to Sandan at a grading held at T.O Strand, on the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
September - RIKDOSA Senior ladies Gold Medals for Kata & Kumite
2002 Attended a training seminar with Soke Masuyama at Port Elizabeth.
In June she took over the position, at the International head office, as International Bureau Chief, helping Sensei Masuyama running Ryushinkan International Karate Federation, worldwide and was instrumental in India and Sri Lanka joining our organization.
2003 Attended a training seminar with Soke Masuyama in India..
In March she visited India, where she was honored to referee at their finals at the All India National Shitoryu- Ryushinkan tournament.
While in India, Christien worked with Masuyama sensei on Karate on music.
2004 Doing development karate in Port Shepstone and Izotsha.
Introduced Karate on Music (called KAROBICS) to Port Shepstone high School Pupils. Thee pupils found it a wonderfull way to workout, get fit and learn to defend themselves all at once.
Present Christien is also the secretary of Ryushinkan International Karate-Do South Africa and assist the Shihankai in their duties.

Some of the pupils at Port Shepstone High School doing Karobics during sport practice.

Not all Students like to do a ball sports and this is the ideal sport to get those involved in some way to get fit and learn something usefull and any exiscise is so much easier when you have music.

The new 2005 Grade 8's learn karate in a Karobics class as part of their initiation at their new school.

The dojo at Izotsha Primary school is also very popular.                                                      Awaiting photo's
